Beasty's Mini Concert Review

I arived fairly early but waited for some friends who showed up after motorhead started. The concert is at an outdoor amphitheater so we could hear them playing. We all had bought tickets to the grass area but there was a table set up selling upgrades for $10US. That was a good deal since the tickets under the pavilion was much higher than the grass area plus the upgrade. We pooled our money (i.e. mostly me) and arrived at our new seats just as motorhead was finishing up.
Oh well, Dio set up pretty quick and started with a bang. Opened with "Killing the Dragon" and played most of the classics like "Last in Line", "Rainbow in the Dark", "Holy Diver", "Dream Evil",and Black Sabbath songs like "Mob Rules". All in all, a very good show. Wished Dio played "One Night in the City" and "Egypt" though. =\
Iron Maiden started in a fury, playing the hard hitting classics like "Number of the Beast", "Trooper", "Hallowed be thy Name" in that order. =) nice! Got the crowd really going. Bruce did his famous rant against the sad state of the music industry (unforntulately true). Then he went on saying that if anyone sneaked a recording device into the concert to... make sure turn it on for the new song off the upcoming album. =) Bruce, like usual, was all over the stage and then some. The backdrop changed for each song just like on the Brave New World tour. Eddie came out dressed like an old time Britsh judge with a red robe and messed with the band members during one of the songs. Bruce dedicated "The Clansman" to all the die hard fans that stick with them for 25 years. After that, they jammed on some more tunes that skips my mind at the moment. Then Maiden left the stage and came back to play "2 minutes to Midnight" and closed with "Run to the Hills". The audience was into the songs and sang along a good portion of the songs. I sang most of it of course. Made a few mistakes but got most of it. Of course my poor throat started to get sore, but it was the last song where I really killed it. That scream toward the end did the trick. =P The friends who came also had to speak in wispers after the show . Yeah, we are gonna pay for all that screaming, but it'll be worth it. :)
